Carl Sandburg College is pleased to participate in the Illinois Virtual Campus.  The IVC is a one-stop shop to assist in locating distance education throughout the state of Illinois. Students can search this virtual catalog for transfer, occupational, and continuing educational courses and/or programs on the IVC web-site.

Enrollment Process:
To enroll in a course listed on the IVC, the student should contact the institution where the course in question is being offered.  The student will need to apply, register, and pay tuition and fees at the college where the course will be taught.  If the student is taking a course for certificate/degree requirements, he/she must officially request that the transcript be sent to the institution where the certificate/degree will be conferred. Institutional contacts can be located on the IVC course web-pages.

Advising at CSC
You should speak with your advisor to determine how a class will transfer, especially if you are pursuing a degree or certificate from Carl Sandburg College. If you do not have an advisor, you can contact Vicki McMullin, the IVC Advisor at (309) 341-5423, or you can e-mail her at vmcmullin@sandburg.edu. For more advising information, please view our Advising web page.

Bookstore
When taking a course offered on the IVC web-site, it should be noted that textbooks, supplies, and course packets vary from college to college and from instructor to instructor.  It is critical to find out what the course requirements are from the college where the course originates.  Students can order their course texts and supplies through the college where the course will be taught or through the CSC bookstore (www.cscbookstore.net).  CSC Bookstore staff work with distance learning students on an individual basis.  Procedures and mandates can vary by student due to the complexities of consortium agreements and financial aid, etc.  The CSC bookstore can be contacted at (309)341-5259 or e-mailed at tshunick@sandburg.edu.
